49 mining--Ingots are the lifeblood of a smith.
50 smithing--Well, if you don't know why, don't read any further. =)
1 tinkering--For making shovels and smithing tools.
Raising Blacksmithing:
All I have to offer is this simple suggestion... Make what is "hard" for you to
make, but not impossible. Making difficult items will raise you skill faster, just
like fighting harder monsters will raise your fighting skills faster. Losing ingots
is part of the sacrifice you make to become a good smith =)
Another thing to keep in mind, is this: If you
are making chain coifs to raise your skill, keep making them until you can make more avg
and above avg coifs, than below avg ones. Then move on to legs and/or tunics, and do
the same thing. Once you can make plate gorgets, follow this example until you reach
Gransmaster! =)
Eat food! Eating really does help!
Your skill will raise a little faster when you are well fed, because you won't fail as
often, when making armour.

Mining:
I highly recommend being a good miner, along with being a smith. You will be self
sufficient then, and not have to rely on others for your precious ingot supply. =)
Mining Tips:
- Until you feel comfortable with the
smelting process, smelt your ore 1 large pile at a time.
- Make you own shovels. (the ore is
free, therefore your ingots, and shovels will be free )
